How to travel by train from London to Innsbruck, Austria

It is possible to travel by train to Innsbruck from London within 24 hours travelling on the Eurostar via Amsterdam then taking the overnight OBB sleeper train to Innsbruck.

Innsbruck is the capital of the Tyrol and the fifth-largest city in Austria. On the River Inn (the name Innsbruck means 'bridge over the Inn'), at its junction with the Wipp Valley, it's also the gateway to the Brenner Pass. Famous sights include the Golden Roof over Herzog-Friedrich-Straße, the Ambras Castle, Gothic Ottoburg tower, and the Hofburg palace, built in the 15th Century.

Transfer: At Amsterdam Central station take the sleeper train to Innsbruck

What's the journey like?

Take the Eurostar to Amsterdam Central station where there's an easy same-station platform change to board the OBB overnight sleeper train to Innsbruck. Keep an eye out on the platform at Amsterdam for the handy guide to the layout of incoming trains, which shows you where your carriage will arrive into the station so you can walk to the correct part of the platform before the train arrives.
