Gran Canaria lies at the centre of the Canary Islands Archipelago and is an activity holiday destination all year round. Known as the 'Island of Continents', it is well known for its expansive golden beaches and a mountainous, volcanic interior that's home to the iconic Roque Nublo.

Green Traveller's Richard Hammond and travel writer Teresa Machan travelled there this summer to see the wilder parts of the island away from the traditional hotspots along the coast. What they found was a beautiful, culturally rich landscape full of charm, with a strong culture identity, age-old historical traditions, and an epic landscape rich in biodiversity.

A Green Traveller Production. Filmed and edited by Richard Hammond.
