The owners have taken a number of green measures to reduce the environmental impact of their tourism business and contribute positively to their surroundings. Some of these initiatives include installation of a wood pellet biomass stove, and use of timber from local and sustainable sources.

To minimise further the environmental impact, guests are encouraged to arrive by public transport: the nearest train station is Dumfries. From there, it’s a 25 mile taxi ride to the accommodation.

Kirkcudbright is about 25 miles from Dumfries, the nearest train station. From Station walk/taxi to Whitesands bus station, take bus 505 from Whitesands to Kirkcudbright. Owners will collect you or take taxi -BP taxi 07711903928- £5 to Waterhouse.
