Why we've chosen Ty Newydd Farmhouse B&B:
Ty Newydd Farmhouse B&B is set in the foot hills of the Brecon Beacons on the edge of the Mon and Brec Canal, next door to a pretty canal boat marina. The building has been lovingly restored, but retains its country charm, with exposed beams, wooden floor boards and old fire places. Each room has panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, modern en-suites, flat screen TVs and comfortable king-size beds.
Ty Newydd is in the popular central area of the Park between the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains making it both convenient for town and country. Locally, there is an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, serving homemade food and real ales. Some are within walking distance where you can revive yourself after a busy day of sight seeing. Walking and cycling couldn't be safer or easier for visitors as direct access onto the canal tow path avoids the roads. Those looking for a challenge can either walk in the mountains or cycle the Taff Trail or a number of BTM routes from the house.
With grazing animals in surrounding fields, colourful canal boats gliding by, the brooding weather on the Beacons as well ducks, swans, herons, red kites and even the occasional kingfisher there is always something to see. Enjoy fresh mountain air, starry skies and peace and quiet at Ty Newydd.

Review by John Sannaee:
"Rachel says that all kinds of people pay a visit to Ty Newydd, and I can well believe it: it's extremely accessible and close to fantastic scenery, sites, walking and cycling country – “we’re not in the middle of nowhere, but we’re close enough to the Beacons” she explains – an escape to nature with plenty to do, without having to go to the end of the earth."
