Why we've chosen Pembrokeshire Beach House:

If you recognise this lovely cottage, it might be because it was home to Elizabeth Taylor for a while! Or, at least, her character Rosie Probert, in the famous film Under Milk Wood, when it was chosen because it was deemed to be the quintessential Pembrokeshire cottage with features such as its traditional grouted roof. It is easy to see why the house lent itself to being on film; located directly on the quiet pebble beach of Parrog, it looks out on to some spectacular views. With not even a fence between the property and the sand, feel free to wander down to the sea’s edge as you sip your morning coffee. The cottage has been the recipient of several accolades, including 'Top 10 UK cottages for Lovers' (Sunday Telegraph), and 'Top 15 Bargain Beach Houses' (Guardian 2014). Perhaps the most appealing feature of this charming property is that it comes with its very own hot tub!

  • Kitchen: Electric oven, Hob, Microwave, Dishwasher, fridge (with freezer compartment) and a breakfast table.
  • Lounge/ Dining Room: A large open-plan room which covers the whole of the ground floor of the original cottage. Quality cast-iron woodburner (first basket of logs supplied) three sofas (one a sofabed) and large dining table that comfortably seats 8. Double French doors to the garden with wonderful sea views. Stairs to second floor. Large-screen TV & DVD player.
  • Shower-room: loo and mains-powered double shower.
  • Utility area: washing machine (washing line in garden)
  • Master bedroom (double): with the best sea view in the house and an armchair to enjoy it. Like the rest of the house this room has newly-fitted oak floors.
  • En-suite bedroom:  A second double-bedroom with newly-fitted en-suite shower room off.
  • Bunk room: The smallest bedroom with bunk beds, sleeps 2, most suitable for children.
  • Outside: large garden that runs directly down and onto the beach. Garden furniture, barbeque, and timber cabin with an excellent quality hot-tub!
  • Centrally-heated throughout with wood-burning stove.
