At Mill Farm you can enjoy your holiday in a beautiful and comfortable barn which is family friendly, practical and welcoming but also carbon neutral. Stay in a newly converted luxury Eco Barn conversion. 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom. Just ten minutes walk from a sandy beach & bordering the waterways of the Norfolk Broads, perfect for a family holiday or celebration.

How do you reduce your draw on energy:
Sustainability - At Mill Farm you can enjoy your holiday in a beautiful and comfortable barn which is family friendly, practical and welcoming but also carbon neutral. 
 

Material and Recycling - We have used natural, local and recycled building materials where possible and ancient handcrafted techniques to create a beautiful, peaceful and bright interior and can proudly tell our guests that only 4 skips of rubbish were removed from site during the entire construction. Guests should fine recycling effortless.

Rain water is harvested - Rain water is harvested from the roof and used to flush the toilets and wash clothes.

Carbon Neutral - Our hot water is heated by a biomass boiler which burns wood pellets. This is much greener than the oil alternative. The rest of our energy is purchased via a green energy tariff making us carbon neutral in terms of our on-going energy demand. Inside, appliances are efficient, lighting is bright but energy efficient. Appliances A rated minimum.

Outdoor space - Outdoor space promotes guests enjoyment and space for wildlife, alongside opportunities to meet chickens and Shetland ponies and eat fresh own grown produce. Car free day trips are possible as guest can use free bikes and guests are encouraged to discover some fantastic local food.

How you minimise the amount of waste you send to landfill:
Clear recycling instructions, Compost bin for guests, advice on where to purchase food to reduce packaging waste.

How you reduce your consumption of water:
All toilets, washing machine are fed by rainwater harvesting tank. Taps are water saving. Small (ish) bath in family bathroom. Showers are great but not power showers. Water supply is metered.

How much of the food your serve is sourced locally (where possible):
Welcome food hamper focuses on local food, am setting up breakfast hamper and BBQ hamper with local butchers

Do you actively encourage guests to arrive on foot, by bike and by public transport?:
10% discount for guests arriving on Public Transport, provide free bikes (2 adults and 2 children and toddler seats for guest to use).

Directions from station:
We offer a 10% discount for anyone arriving on public transport and have 2 adults bikes to loan out to any guests (with baby seats and helmets). Take Bus 1 from Great Yarmouth (Howard Street North) and get off on Bulmer Lane the farm is a short 10 min walk.
