Why we've chosen The Dulaig:

Come to The Dulaig and relax….you’ll never want to leave!

The Dulaig is the only B&B rated 5-Star Gold by VisitScotland in the Cairngorms National Park. We also have a Gold Award under the Green Tourism Business Scheme for our Environmental Management.

View beautiful wildlife, including Red Squirrels and birds, whilst you enjoy excellent service and the best of Scottish Highland hospitality in our stunning, elegant 1910 country house. Delicious food (home-made, home-grown and local produce, and beautiful eggs from our own free range Black Rock hens)….and The Cake Fairy visits every day!

We have three beautifully appointed bedrooms of which two can be let at any one time. Guests often tell us that our Vi-Spring beds are the most comfortable beds they have ever slept in.

Perfect for a relaxed romantic break, a base for an activity holiday or simply for chilling out and unwinding, The Dulaig is also our home. It is set in a beautifully peaceful situation in large private gardens adjoining open countryside yet is only a few minutes walk from Grantown-on-Spey centre. There are beautiful country walks and cycle routes nearby and other activities include golf, fishing on the River Spey, bird-watching and photography...or simply taking in the beautiful scenery. With little light pollution the night skies are wonderful for stargazing too.

"This is a luxury B&B with a lovely garden in a stunning, peaceful location. The owners clearly care passionately about what they are doing, and evidence of attention to detail is everywhere – from complimentary scones and jam on arrival (homemade scones, homecooked jam) to the carefully selected arts and crafts furniture in each room. Very friendly, very restful."

The Dulaig has been awarded Gold by the Green Tourism Business Scheme with energy-saving features that include recently-installed photovoltaic solar panels to generate electricity, high levels of insulation, low energy lighting and the use of mostly A-rated appliances. Recycling bins are provided in all guest rooms, with food waste collected, composted and used in the garden. To save water the owners have installed low volume modern cisterns and have trialled an eco shower in one of the bathrooms. The owners also use home-made, home-grown and locally produced food in season wherever possible, as well as baking their own bread, cakes and other goodies.

The garden has been developed to offer a haven for wildlife, with suitable habitats including a wildlife pond having been installed. As a result, red squrrels and several species of nesting birds are daily visitors. It is also particularly easy to reach The Dulaig by public transport. Simply take the train from London up to Aviemore, then cross to the bus station and catch the No34 bus to Grantown-on-Spey. From here it is only a short walk to the accommodation.
