Why we've chosen Crashpad Lodges

Crashpad Lodge is a unique off-grid bunkhouse situated in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park making it a perfect base for your getaway in North Wales. The original welsh name for the bunkhouse is Yr Helfa. Located on the wild slopes of Snowdon you are close to the amenities of Llanberis yet still very much in a mountain environment. At the foot of Snowdon and with soaring mountain views in all directions, recently renovated to provide accommodation for 18 people in three bedrooms. Inside, it’s simple and spacious, with underfloor heating, whitewashed walls, exposed stone, and wooden bunks. Most of the interior items like the soft and hard furnishings have been hand made by the owner and friends. The setting is stunning and there’s a half-mile walk from the car park to the bunkhouse, which only adds to the feeling of blissful isolation, and also means that it is completely off gird and self sustained. This does mean that there will be a little bit of maintenance and up-keep on your stay but nothing that we feel would be too inconvenient.. Walking, climbing, biking, canoeing are all practically on your doorstep.
