Church Farm, nestles next to the ancient Norman Church of Alsop en-le Dale, at the head of one of the most beautiful, hidden dales of the Peak District National Park.

Our limestone barn, converted into two topsy-turvy, self-catering cottages, overlooks an enclosed cobbled yard against a backdrop of hills and copses. You can walk right out the front door into the stunning White Peak, with miles of footpaths and trails ideal for Walkers and Cyclists.

The Tissington trail, just two fields away, and the nearby High Peak and Manifold Trails provide miles of traffic-free walking, cycling, or riding (Trekking available in nearby Tissington village. Cycle hire in Asbourne) Within easy distance are Dovedale and its famous stepping stones; Alstonefield with its award winning George Inn and Tissington, famous for its Well Dressings (be sure to stop and sample the vintage sweet shop’s wares)

For the stately home lover Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are a short drive away with Sudbury, Keddleston and Hardwick Halls nearby. If you are more adventurous then Alton Towers is 30 minutes away. Sailing and water sports are available on Carsington Water. The spa town of Buxton with its famous Dome and Opera House is worth a visit, as are the excellent shops in our market towns: Ashbourne (a Georgian gem), Bakewell (home of the famous pudding) and Leek.

Our self catering cottages sleep 3 or 4 people in comfort and are equipped to ETB 4 Key standard. We hold the Peak District Environmental Quality mark.

Review by Liz Granirer

"At Church Farm Holiday Cottages, the upside-down arrangements – bedrooms downstairs, living areas upstairs – mean you get to enjoy the farmyard views by day. The well-appointed, open-plan kitchens have everything you need to cook full-blown family meals, there’s plenty of comfortable seating, wi-fi, a DVD player and TV, and highchair and cot available. Dogs welcome (but do let them know first!).  Being green has obviously always been a way of life for Christine and Chris."
