Why we've chosen at Burnside Park:

Burnside Park luxury self catering accommodation is notable for its prime location in Bowness on Windermere, right at the heart of the English Lake District. The resort nestles in mature gardens just three hundred meters from the shore of Lake Windermere; a short stroll from the lovely village of Bowness on Windermere.  We have been providing top quality, luxury self catering holidays in the Lake District for more than twenty five years and pride ourselves on the quality of all of our cottages and apartments. We work to the highest possible standards of housekeeping and maintenance to ensure your comfort - we have been awarded an English Tourism 4 Star Quality in Tourism Award.

Our luxury self catering cottages and apartments sleep between 2 and 6 people and range from a studio apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment/cottage and they are usually let on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday; however we are often able to offer short breaks on a minimum of a two night stay.

Our 1 bedroom apartments have a separate bedroom, bathroom with a shower over the bath, open plan lounge kitchen diner which has a sofa bed in the lounge. Our 2 bedroom cottages have a double bedroom en suite, twin bedroom, separate shower/family bathroom, open plan lounge kitchen diner and have twin beds on a gallery above the lounge. Our 2 bedroom premier apartments have a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, twin bedroom, separate wet room and open plan lounge kitchen diner with a sofa bed in the lounge. We offer free Wi-Fi to help plan your days out and whilst you are staying on the Resort we offer free entry into the neighbouring hotel’s leisure facilities, which include a pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and gymnasium.

There's plenty for families to do within easy reach of the Burnside Park Resort. Within minutes of your self-catering cottage or apartment you can explore the cultural attractions of the area such as Blackwell Arts and Crafts House designed by Baille Scott, or visit the homes of Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth The English Lake District is renowned worldwide for outdoor fun and scenic splendour; for residents at Burnside Park there is climbing, cycling, horse riding and sailing, all available locally. All these attractions are of course in addition to the miles and miles of magnificent walks right on your doorstep! Why not try and have a car free day and just enjoy the local countryside using public transport, bikes, and boats or walking

How do you reduce your draw on energy:
We have installed electric panel heaters in most of our cottages that use less energy than our old storage heaters. We are switiching to LED lights throughout our cottages which will be completed by February 2014.

How you minimise the amount of waste you send to landfill:
We offer recycling bins for plastic, cardborad, paper, aluminium and glass and nespresso capsules.

How you reduce your consumption of water:
We use phosphrate free products for laundry and cleaning and we are lloking into flow restrictors for our taps and water savers for our cisterns.

How much of the food your serve is sourced locally (where possible):
We are self catering so we do not have any food outlets.

Do you actively encourage guests to arrive on foot, by bike and by public transport?:
Not at present but this is something we are now looking at.
