"It is not surprising that Brynhonddu won the 'Best B&B in Wales' award as voted by overseas guests - this is an ideal accommodation for those looking to immerse themselves in Welsh history and culture. As Keith put it, there is "no one reason to come here", and the information he and Carol make available means it’s very easy to get out and enjoy the Brecon Beacons."

Why is this a greener holiday?

To truly minimise the environmental impact, guests are encouraged to arrive by public transport: the nearest train station is Abergavenny, which is 6 miles away. From there, the X4 bus runs every 2 hours daily except Sunday to 'The Old Pandy Inn' one mile away. Alternatively there are taxi ranks at the station.

Onsite the owners have taken a number of green measures to reduce the environmental impact of their tourism business, which has earned them Silver from the GTBS. The energy needs are minimised with solar heated water used for all washing. They reuse and recycle where possible. Local produce is used where possible for guests' breakfasts. Additionally, they plants trees and keep one third of grounds wild in order to encourage wildlife and support the 47 species of bird currently found and the grounds are covered by a Blanket Preservation Order on the trees.
