Why we've chosen Bryn Bella Guest House:

How does Bryn Bella Guest House minimise its impact on the environment and contribute to a sense of place?

Having been awarded Gold from the GTBS, Bryn Bella Guest House has implemented a wide range of green measures to minimize their draw on natural resources. All their electricity is sourced from renewable sources and solar heat panels meets the property’s waters needs. Water usage is constantly monitored. All waste is sorted and wherever possible recycled either at the local recycling centre or convenient facilities nearby. All the toilets are either dual flush or restricted to ensure water is not wasted. The laundry appliances are modern machines that use less water than their traditional counterparts. Grey water from both the bathrooms and the downpipes surrounding the house is collected and reused.

The owners use as much locally-sourced produce as possible, such as meat from the local farms, sausages handmade by the local butcher, while eggs are from the owners’ own free-range chickens. To minimise their impact on the protected area of Snowdonia National Park and its biodiversity, guests are always encouraged to arrive and explore the area by alternate means including bus, train, bicycle and on foot.

Review by Lucy Symons

"Joan and Mark do everything themselves, from cooking and cleaning to changing the beds. They only have a few rooms so they can really give you a totally personalised service"
