Why we've chosen Bedruthan Steps Hotel and Spa

Breathe fresh air and slow to Cornwall’s pace of life at Bedruthan Steps Hotel and Spa; the perfect place for three generation breaks and relaxing time for two. Contemporary comfort and a friendly team welcome you to experience our glorious setting, delicious local food and our Ocean Spa – holiday with a conscious, unconsciously.

Our family-owned hotel is perched on the cliff top overlooking the sands of Mawgan Porth beach, the tantilising Atlantic ocean and stunning North Cornwall coastline. With soft play ares for little ones, teenage games rooms, outdoor play equipment, onsite surf instructor, child free areas, adult lounges, variety of dining areas, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and our relaxing Hydro Spa, we hope that we have created a home away from home for all ages and needs.

Find yourself lulled into serenity by the sea; on quiet sunbleached days with turquoise waves and soft sands, or discover tranquility in occasional wild and spectacular storms. Bedruthan will help you find the hidden Cornwall and discover why so many are inspired by the natural landscapes of this county year round.

How does Bedruthan Steps Hotel and Spa minimise its impact on the environment and contribute to a sense of place?

Having been awarded Gold by the GTBS, Bedruthan Steps' energy saving initiatives include an 88% efficient condensing boiler system, 38 solar panels to heat the outside pool, key-card energy activation systems in bedrooms, light sensors in public washrooms, comprehensive insulation and a fridge recapture system. The hotel has a 100% green energy tarrif, with the entire supply being generated by renewable energy sources. All of the hotel's toilets have small cisterns and dual flushes, the taps and showers have aerators, plants are watered with collected rainwater and the water harvested from the roof of the Ocean Spa provides the water used for flushing the Spa's toilets.

It is possible to recycle glass, paper, plastic, aluminium, cellophane, cartridges and batteries, while food waste can be composted and used either on the grounds, or by employees at home. The packed lunch containers are made from recycled, compostable materials and products are ordered in bulk and decantered wherever possible. The hotel's 'buy local, buy responsible' policy ensures that at least 70% of the produce and ingredients are sourced from Cornwall and the South West. There's also a discount for all guests that arrive on foot, by bike or by bus, plus there are facilities and services for cyclists and walkers, including the lengthy stretch of Mawgan Porth beach, and miles of North Cornwall coastline just minutes from the hotel.
