Why we've chosen Badger Gypsy Caravan:

Managed by the award-winning agency Under the Thatch. The beautiful Badger Gypsy Caravan sits on an organic farm, in an unspoilt area, with direct access to the miles of open mountain trails. It has its own kitchen and bathroom in the accompanying Shepherd's hut and access to an amazing treehouse.

  • The gypsy waggon has a fitted day bed piled high with cushions and cosy rugs slides out to make a comfy 5'ft 3" x 6'6" double bed with all linen and bedding provided.
  • Lots of storage in the beautifully painted cupboards and drawers.
  • Shepherd's hut with a pretty fitted kitchen with a microwave, 2 ring ceramic hob, fridge and sink. Comfy indoor dining and seating area. Shower room with under floor heating.
  • Chiminea for fires or barbecues.
  • Games room in the old farmyard, where you can play table-tennis, table-football and pool.
  • Laundry room with washing machine and freezer.
  • Radio provided, but no TV.
  • Borrow bikes and explore the great trails, footpaths and longdistance bridleways that start at the door.

Why is this a greener holiday?

First, to truly minimise the environmental impact, guests are encouraged to arrive by public transport: the nearest train station is Llandrindod, which is 8.6 miles away and 23 minutes by taxi. Onsite the owners have implemented a number of green initiatives including restoring a genuine Romany caravan for tourism purposes rather than constructing a new building. The Shepherd’s hut is a recycled horsebox, which is fully insulated. Sustainable wood from farm is used in Chiminea. Solar panels help provide electricity. The owners have undergone an extensive amount of conservation work on the organic farm which helps protect habitat and improve biodiversity. All waste is recycled where possible.
