Set 400 metres above the Lauterbrunnen Valley on a sheltered sun terrace at the base of the Jungfrau, Wengen is a picture perfect resort in a picturesque location. The village has been car-free since 1893 so the only way to get there is by train.

The resort itself is an ideal base for the ski slopes of the Kleine-Scheidegg Männlichen region with 110 km of mostly beginner to intermediate pistes. There are also some great family-friendly nursery slopes in the village itself. For a daytrip out of Wengen, head up to the highest train station in Europe at the top of the Jungfrau or spend some time soaking up the relaxed atmosphere of nearby Interlaken.
