Overview of Weekend Yoga Breaks at the Burren Yoga Centre
Choose the course suitable for your age group and fitness level
We offer over 40 residential yoga weekend breaks each year all year round.
Even on our week-long summer courses, it is possible to book a weekend only.
Some of our courses are very gentle and suitable for complete beginners of all ages and all levels of fitness, and some other courses are quite strong and dynamic and more suitable for regular yoga practitioners and those who are more fit.
We teach 9 different types of yoga so it is important to choose the type of yoga that suits you best.

Most people come on their own, and it is very easy to make friends within the warm, welcoming, informal friendly atmosphere.
We take a maximum of 15 people on each course so everyone gets very good individual attention.
Delicious vegetarian food
Our chef is Paddi who used to run Seventh Heaven restaurant in Galway city for over 12 years. The food is of restaurant standards and worth searching for reviews on Burren Yoga to hear about the food.
We have had dogmatic meat eaters who have returned home with Paddi’s recipe book under their arm ;-)
Paddi also caters for special diets.
Getting from the UK could not be easier
You can take the ferry and train to Gort which is 6 miles from the centre.

Timetable for weekend
All our weekend courses begin on Friday evening at 7:00 pm with dinner and finish on Sunday at 2pm after lunch giving you time to return home refreshed and relaxed after a rejuvenating weekend in one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland.
Weather in The Burren
The weather is very clement on the west coast of Ireland, with south westerly winds blowing across the gulf stream leaving it ideal for hill walking all year round.
The Burren is renowned for its unique collection of wild flowers and many botanists come to the area to study the wild orchids which are abundant from May to September. There are many ancient stone forts and dolmens dotted among the hills.

'I can not say enough positive things about Michael Ryan's yoga instruction and classes. I have been practising yoga on and off for 5 years and regularly in the past 2 years and Michael Ryan is one of the best instructors with whom I have had the joy and blessing of practising. He starts the week out gently with the intention of building gradually and encouraging each of us to challenge ourselves at each step along the way. Our class had a mix of yoga levels and Michael was able to teach in such a way that we all felt included and challenged.'
