Price:

£395 per person based on two people sharing

Duration: 4 days / 4 nights. Or 8 days combined with 1066 Country Walk

Start point: Wadhurst, East Sussex
End point: Rye, East Sussex

The tour starts in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a hidden treasure of undulating landscape only an hour's travel by train from London. It traverses the shores of the largest inland water in South East England, before visiting two of England's most romantic moated castles as well the beautiful Great Dixter Gardens.

It takes a lesser known route, away from roads and including some beautiful woodland, rich in wild flowers, before descending to a river area with a magnificent vista of the ancient town of Rye beyond.

The walk is carefully designed so that you can walk to all the places of interest, your accommodation and places to eat. Stay along the way in old English homes or atmospheric inns, all carefully selected for the quality and comfort of their accommodation. Walk at a relaxed carefree pace while your baggage is transported for you.

The average distance walked per day is 18 - 20 km / 11 - 12 miles; or an extra day can be added for a more leisurely tour. It is also possible to combine this tour with the 1066 Country Walk from Rye to Pevensey to make a magnificent 7 or 8 day walking tour.
