A single centre walking holiday, staying in a lavishly elegant 4-star hotel with plenty of activities surrounding it; a true paradise for walkers. Highlights of this holiday are the snow-capped peaks, flower-filled meadows as well as swimming, sailing and surfing on Lake Davos. There are local musical events, and you will be provided with a Davos card for unlimited travel on most cable cars, gondolas, funiculars, local railway and buses, as well as discounts on other activities such as an outdoor pool.

The Hotel Meierhof is your 19C hotel, with an indoor pool with saunas, steambaths, whirlpool and mini gym. You will be provided a hearty continental breakfast and exquisitely presented food for the four-course dinners. Your hosts will arrange complementary wine tasting in their cellar, and a 5-course gala dinner on Saturday.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrive in Davos
Be met at the station and taken to your hotel.

Day 2 - Classic Alps Walk 11km/7mi/3hr or 18km/11mi/5.5hr
Home to an array of rare Alpine blooms is Alpinium, where you will head off past mountain chalets and meadows dotted with cows to Stafelalp. Admire beautiful views over the Mittaghorn and Jacobshorn while you have a quick picnic. Onwards, descend through a valley along the River Chummer to Glaris, and back to Davos by bus.

Day 3 - Clavadeler Alp 8km/5mi/2hr or 15km/10mi/4.5hr
Stroll along a gentle track, leading to Mt. Jakobshorn and take in spectacular views over Davos and the Graubunden peaks. Then you reach a perfect spot for lunch, Jakobshorn Gasthaus. Descend to Clavadel to taste the spicy cheese before joining the trail back to your hotel.

Day 4 - The Serene Sertig Valley 7km/4.5mi/2.5hr or 17km/10.5mi/4.5hr
Hop on Mt Rinerhorn cable car, descending into pine forest to lovely Sertig. Walk through and then to the stunning waterfall under Gross Alp. Find the wooded path that meanders along with the River Sertig to Frauenkirch to catch a bus to Davos.

Day 5 - Free day
If you feel like a change of scenery, then why not visit pretty Klosters? You take the train (25 mins, included) to the opposite side of the valley, a real contrast to neighbouring davos, before returning to your hotel to spend a few hours relaxing in the hotels’ wellness area before dinner.

Day 6 - Walser Villages Walk 10km/6mi/3hr or 18km/11mi/5hr
A mountain path leads to HauderAlp where the jolly farmer will sell you fresh milk by the glass! Onwards, with stunning views over Bodmen Alp, you track down to Monstein with two gasthaus and medieval brewery. After lunch explore the oak forest, looking out for flitting lapwings, before you descend to Jenisberg and a fun mountain railway ride to Davos.

Day 7 - Grand Panoramic Trail 8km/5mi/2hr or 19km/12mi/6hr
Ascend from Panoramaweg to cows and the tiny Lake Schoansee. Klosters will frame the horizon as you climb to Gotschnagrat for lunch. Return through edelweiss and gentian, spotting marmots as you descend to Davos for your 5-course gala dinner.
