Holidays in West Wales, Wales

The Welsh government has recently invested lots of money into joining up their coast paths, making it a better time than ever to visit places like the Ceredigion Coast. Lesser known than Pembrokeshire and Snowdonia, parts of the coast in Western Wales now have exactly the same walking opportunities but with less tourism and less hype.

Most walks in the region stretch between the 12th Century town of Cardigan to the wind swept sand dunes of Ynyslas. The coast is both beautiful and interesting, littered with Celtic chapels, cliffs and coves. Within one day you can walk past ancient Iron Age Forts, through villages lost in time, past bustling quays and onto sandy beaches. Aberstwyth is one of the largest towns in the region, and what it lacks in initial charm it makes up for in intriguing attractions like the longest cliff railway in Britain and the Devil’s Bridge Steam Railway.
