Day 1
Departing from St Pancras International by Eurostar we commence our 8,000-mile journey across a third of the world. We then connect to onward rail services, ending with a sleeper to Warsaw.
Day 2
After arriving in Warsaw, there is a tour of the Polish capital, including the Old Town, Castle Square, King Sigismund's Column and the Cathedral - then the afternoon is free to explore at leisure. Accommodation is in the 5-star Radisson SAS Hotel.
Days 3-4
Travelling by sleeper train, we arrive in Moscow on the morning of Day 4 and transfer to the Moscow Marriott Royal Aurora Hotel, where a welcome reception and dinner is held.
Day 5
The whole day is spent exploring the Russian capital, including celebrated sites such as the Kremlin, Red Square and St Basil's Cathedral, before boarding the Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express to begin our epic journey to Vladivostok.
Day 6
We stop in the historic city of Kazan, renowned for its ornate architecture, including its dramatic Kremlin and beautiful Mosque and Cathedral.
Day 7
Crossing into Asia we reach Yekaterinburg, capital of the Urals - including the Romanov family memorial church, as well as the Military History Museum and the Urals Mineralogical Museum.
Day 8
A stop in Novosibirsk, capital of Siberia, with a tour to sights such as the Opera House, built by the city's women and children, then on to Akademgorodok with its wonderful Siberian Railway Museum.
Days 9-10
Day 9 is spent relaxing on the train and admiring the scenery, we arrive in historic Irkutsk, city of the Cossacks and known as the 'Paris of Siberia' - where we will admire the traditional Siberian carved-wood architecture that the area is known for.
Day 11
Today the journey takes us past the vast, deep waters of Lake Baikal, the world's largest freshwater lake (by volume), with around 20% of the world's freshwater. After skirting the lakeside along cuttings in the cliff, we stop for a barbecue lunch and visit an exhibition about the unique ecology of the Lake and its region.
Day 12
Today is spent sightseeing in Ulan Ude, including a visit to its colourful Buddhist temple and the Village of Old Believers, followed by a concert of local music and dancing.
Day 13-14
On Day 13 we arrive in Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia, where we visit the Natural History or Ethnographic Museums followed by lunch in a traditional yurt - there is then an optional excursion to the nearby Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, or you can spend the afternoon at leisure. Day 14 is spent watching Siberia unfold outside as you relax on the train.
Day 15-16
On these days, the train crosses some of the world's most remote wilderness areas, landscapes shaped by permafrost where human existence itself is a challenge, closing in on the Chinese border as we approach the Pacific, and enjoy a farewell dinner.
Day 17
The Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express arrives in Vladivostok, on the Sea of Japan, a melting pot of European and Oriental cultures, where we have a tour and a boat cruise on the Golden Horn Bay, as well as a visit to the impressive Arsenyev History Museum, before transferring to the Hyundai Hotel for your last night.
Day 18
Transfer to the airport for return flights via Moscow to London, arriving back in London in the evening. Alternatively you can take the Trans-Siberian railway back westwards (if you'd like to do this please discuss the options with our sales staff).

Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express
The Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express is arguably the best quality of rail travel offered anywhere in the world. The train features two beautifully appointed restaurant cars, in which meals freshly prepared by the on board chefs are served accompanied by wine and vodka. There is also a bar car which is an excellent place to relax and socialize - and in the evening, enjoy the music from the resident pianist.
We include accommodation in Silver Class cabins. These cabins cover 60 square feet (5.5 square metres) and sleep two people in an upper and a lower berth. They feature a wealth of amenities including remote controlled air conditioning and heating, a wardrobe, luggage space, a safe and a DVD/CD player with LCD television screens. Complimentary tea, coffee and mineral water are available in the cabins and towels are provided. All Silver Class cabins have private en suite facilities with a 'wet room' style shower, washbasin and WC.
Jan Kiepura
The Jan Kiepura EuroNight sleeper train serves the route between Cologne and Warsaw.
The modern Polish sleeping cars offer one, two or three berth compartments with seats that convert to upper and lower berths at night, air conditioning and a small washbasin. Shared WCs are available at the end of each carriage.

The 5-star Radisson Blu Centrum Hotel in Warsaw is located in the business district, within reach of the Old Town.
