Details of A Taste of Winter Holiday in Kandersteg
Our winter activity weeks are ideal for those who have never been on a winter holiday before and want to find out if it’s for them, or for skiers who are interested in finding other ways to enjoy the snow. In the company of like-minded Inntravel guests, discover for yourself the exhilaration of whizzing down a snow-clad slope, the joy of cross-country skiing amid magnificent scenery, the thrill of exploring virgin snow on snowshoes, the fun of ice-skating and much more.
The picture-book village of Kandersteg in the Bernese Oberland is perfect for an activity week – the skiing is great, but there are so many activities on offer that you could easily spend a whole week here without ever donning a pair of skis - and to reflect this choice, we include six exciting activities for you to enjoy. You stay at the Hotel Victoria, our most popular winter hotel, enjoying the outstanding hospitality provided by your English-speaking hosts, Casi and Mimi Platzer and their team, and the excellent facilities which include a panoramic indoor pool.
The programme includes six fabulous winter activities, allowing you to enjoy each of the following: a half-day cross-country skiing lesson, a horse-drawn sleigh ride, a guided snowshoe excursion, a curling lesson at the indoor ice rink, an accompanied afternoon of tobogganing and a torch-lit stroll culminating in a glass of mulled wine. For even greater value, we include equipment hire and all drinks during your stay.
Between sessions, you are free to spend your time as you wish, giving you the chance to spend more time mastering your favourite activities. There is also a large network of specially prepared winter walking paths that you could explore, or, for a complete change of scenery, you could take a train to the capital, Bern, or the unspoiled Lötschental Valley.
