A giant's stone throw from the coast of Scotland, the Orkney Islands are an inspiration in the sea, a place of deep culture and rich seascapes. Within the ruins strewn across the isle are Viking names etched in stone and all the isles are seeped in Norse culture that is plain to see. Consquenty nicknamed the Egypt of the North, the Standing Stones of Stenness and The Ring of Brodfar are burial mounds that need to be seen to be believed. For more recent history, Scapa Flow hides a World War I German wreck that you can dive down to see.
