Wildlife tourism in the Scottish Hebrides has received a boost thanks to a major grant from the Government’s Coastal Communities Fund to develop a community based ecotourism scheme. Conservation charity Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) has been awarded £120,000 from the Government’s Coastal Communities Fund enabling it to launch an ecotourism project in 15 island communities across the Hebrides.

Join us on this walking and driving holiday and discover 208km/130 mile chain of Islands, which will give you the opportunity to discover remote and beautiful places of Scotland. The route is divided into day trips starting in Barra and finishing at Ullapool. There is no set itinerary and you can decide how you want to do your walk, but we offer you different options for each day to enjoy your holidays as much as you can.

The marvellous landscape is formed by indigenous flora and fauna which is adapted to this wild and gorgeous region of Scotland, sand beaches, hills and moorlands. But don’t forget about the incredible remains of the ruins from the past that complete the view, in some cases. There’s no better way to enjoy a moment of calm and tranquillity, which will give you the chance to forget about the routine and work. Among the places you will see, you can find Barra, Uist, Lewis and its prehistoric remains and the landscape of Harris.
