Running for no less than 177 miles along the rugged Anglo-Welsh border, Offa’s Dyke Path National Trail passes through three separate areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering up miles of verdant moorland, ancient woodland and tranquil river valleys. Originally created by King Offa in the 8th Century, Offa's Dyke stretches from Prestatyn in the north, down through eight counties (also crossing the border between England and Wales 20 times!) before arriving in Chepstow. This trip will see you walk the entire length of the trail in just under two weeks. Highlights include passing through Hay-On-Wye, the famous literary town, the climb up to Hattrerall Ridge for some of the best views of the entire day, and getting to wonder at buildings such as Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle as your holiday draws to a close.

The trip is graded as Moderate to Strenuous, so you'll need to have a good level of fitness before taking on this fantastic challenge. You'll also need to be prepared for every kind of walking terrain imaginable, from well-marked paths and trails to ridge walking and rugged rural woodland. Getting to Prestatyn isn't a problem either, within 2 and a half hours of Cardiff, and 1 hour and 20 minutes from Liverpool.
