Paris Velib – the city's self-service bike scheme launched in 2007, has won this year's Guardian, Observer and guardian.co.uk Ethical Travel Award.
Second place went to Wilderness Scotland - the adventure travel company that offers low impact tours into Scotland's Highlands and Islands.
Third place went to Under the Thatch, which lets out a collection of unusual places to stay (mostly in West Wales) including restored thatched cottages, a romany caravan and a former railway carriage.

The judges were Isabel Choat (Guardian Travel Editor), Jo O'Connor (Observer Travel Editor) and Richard Hammond (founder of GreenTraveller.co.uk).
The Man in Seat Sixty One – seat61.com - won the 'Best Travel Website', which according to judges, "is at the forefront of the green travel trend".

Paris cycle hire
I've used these cycles in Paris and they're a great idea and a great way to get around. Some of them are already in pretty bad condition, but you'd expect that I suppose as so many people use them. It'd be great to see other cities picking up on the idea, but I'm not sure they'd be used in the UK.
