There will be a new eco-inn opening in Laconia soon. It situated in the village of Xirokambi, just 10 minutes from the city of Sparta (Mystras any many more). www.taleton.gr
I would like to have it registered as a bio hotel. Does anyone know of an international organization which registered hotels such as this one, of course, after all criterias are met.

Now that you mention about this I realize that it’s been a long while since I last visited Greece, I think it’s time to book a vacation there, I miss it. I hope Hotel Chania still have available room for me, I loved my last staying and I want to repeat it. Greece has more eco-hotels, I should make a list with all of them but their number keeps rising.
Bio hotels
My advice is that often the best organisations that certify eco hotels are national schemes rather than international ones, as the issues are often specific to one country/destination. Some of the best national schemes are listed on the website of the ecolabel VISIT (Voluntary Initiatives for Sustainability in Tourism.
Though if you are only interested in an international scheme, I’d recommend Green Globe.
