Mukti Mitchell has reached London in his 15ft yacht after sailing three quarters of the way around Britain to promote low carbon lifestyles. The 6-month tour of Britain left Clovelly, Devon on 8th April and has sailed over 1,500 miles around Wales and Scotland to reach London...

Mukti has stopped at over 40 ports of call including Swansea, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh, to give talks on low carbon living, hand out flyers and guidebooks and talk to regional media.

Since leaving Clovelly, Mukti says he has seen countless dolphins, seals, puffins and diving gannets, and had to brave force 7 winds with 10ft waves in the Irish Sea.

“I’ve crewed on yachts across the Atlantic and the Caribbean, but Britain can easily compete for sheer sailing pleasure” he said.

Mukti aims to deliver 1,400 copies of The Guide to Low Carbon Living to the Queen, Prince of Wales, the Prime Minister, MPs and Lords. You can join the walk to Westminster, which leaves from Trinity Square Gardens, Tower Hill Tube, at 10.30 on Saturday 18th August. The walk goes via the south bank to Westminster, Downing Street, Clarence House and Buckingham Palace, and ends with a talk by Mukti at Speaker’s Corner, Hyde Park from 5-6pm.

The 'Low Carbon Lifestyle Tour' is endorsed by HRH The Prince of Wales, Tony Blair, David Cameron, Menzies Campbell and leading UK environmentalists. For more information and to download a free PDF of the guidebook: www.lowcarbonlifestyle.org.
