Mountain Biking: The Hebridean Trail, Scotland

This fantastic 7-day mountain biking adventure will take travellers to one of Europe's last remaining wildernesses - the Outer Hebrides. Known as the 'Hebridean Trail', this 280km mountain bike adventure explores no less than seven separate islands via a collection of rugged paths, by-ways, mountain trails and secluded roads. Without a doubt, the highlight of this trip is the freedom with which you'll explore the beautiful landscape, possibly encountering local wildlife and exploring the 5000 years of human history in the area.

Over the seven day period you'll ride around 35-70km a day, beginning with an exploration of the Islands of North and South Uist before catching the ferry across the Sound of Harris to Leverburgh. One of the true highlights has to be your day exploring the Isle of Lewis where you'll combine mountain biking with trips on a RIB boat that takes you out to the otherwise unreachable west coast of Harris and the Isle of Lewis itself.
