Make an early start by train from London and be at the resort by 4.30pm or you can make a more leisurely day of it and still arrive before 8pm. The route goes via Paris (on the Eurostar) with a connecting fast TGV service to Basel on the French/ Swiss border. You can either travel via Interlaken or Lucerne to Meiringen and in either direction the last part of the journey will be along the route of the Golden Pass Line, one of the most scenic journeys in Switzerland. Stop for a night in Paris and be skiing by the following afternoon. Or take a sleeper from Cologne or Amsterdam to Spiez which is just over an hour from Meiringen, and benefit from even more time on the slopes. You could even stop off in Cologne, Paris or Strasbourg and enjoy a city break along the way. The choice is yours!
