TYF's Learn to Surf Holiday, Wales
Wales is a great place to learn to surf, at TYF you’ll learn to surf with the best surfing coaches, in some of the cleanest and most wildlife rich coastal waters in Europe. But beware, surfing is addictive, once surf fever strikes, you’ll be hooked.
£190 course only, £290 with bell tent accommodation for 2 nights sleeping up to six.
TYF have teamed up with Surfers Against Sewage to offer this fantastic 2 day 'learn to surf' course just off the Pembrokeshire coast. Arriving on a Friday, you'll spend the night at a comfortable local accommodation after a quick meeting with your surf coach. You'll run through the itinerary and have a quick chat about the best surf options while you're there - obviously you'll need to be flexible regarding tides and location. The rest of the evening will be spent watching a surf film on the projector and gearing up for your session.
You'll get out on the beach as soon as possible on the first day, taking your time to go through everything from the roots of surfing to wetsuit design, surf prediction and safety. You'll then learn how to paddle, how to negotiate the surf and, finally, how to actually stand up on the board and 'catch a wave'. You'll then get some lunch and will be given a presentation by Surfers Against Sewage on the protection of beaches, followed by an organised beach clean, and then some more time in the water before enjoying a BBQ on the beach. Sunday morning comes along and you're back in the water, trying to nail the technique and catch as many waves as possible, all under the watchful eye of your guide. You'll then have lunch while discussing jsut hwat you've learned over the course of the trip.
