Scot Mountain Highland Family Adventure

Day of arrival: We are happy to meet you at your point of arrival - Aviemore station. You’ll enjoy the short and scenic drive to our home at Boat of Garten.

Sample itinerary:

Day 1: (Self-guided)
Explore the fabulous landscape on a self-guided mountain biking adventure of about 9 miles that takes in a famous steam train, Caledonian pine woods and a unique osprey hide. You will have all day to explore and cover the 9 miles back to Boat of Garten. You'll also have a packed lunch to enjoy on the wee beach by Loch Garten, looking out to the hills.

Day 2: (Guided)
We take you on a guided outing to visit world famous Loch Ness, impressive Urquhart Castle, followed by a cycle along the scenic and wildlife-rich South Loch Ness Trail or a visit to Abriachan bike tracks where there should be something for all the family to explore under their own steam and at their own pace with miles of tracks and a tree house.

Day 3: (Guided)
A guided day filled with Scottish traditions, including kilts, whisky, a castle and a Burns Supper.

Day 4: (Self-guided)
A self guided day on the bikes again filled with family friendly activities including “throwing a pot”, mountain biking and the chance to try a spot of fishing.

Day 5: (Guided)
After an early rise and breakfast, this guided day heads to the dramatically scenic Torridon area for a day of walking. This really is an area not to be missed.

Day 6: (Guided)
A guided trip to one of a number of traditional Highland Games events that take place on different days throughout the summer.

We will be sad to see you go on departure day, but we hope you’ll return again for another of our family focused activity holidays.
