Greentraveller's Guide to Rock Ness

Rock Ness: the main stage is a spectacle at nightRock Ness: the main stage is a spectacle at nightROCK NESS

When: June 11-13, 2010

Where: Dores, Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands, UK

2010 Headliners: Fatboy Slim, Leftfield and The Strokes; alongside Blondie, Aphex Twin and Pendulum

Interesting fact: Touting itself as “the only festival with its own monster,” Rock Ness has one of the UK's most breathtaking settings on the shores of beautiful Loch Ness.

HOW GREEN IS ROCK NESS?

  • Rock Ness recycles a higher rate of its waste than local authorities, through MFR's Zero Waste Scotland scheme
  • Recognising that 80% of carbon emissions from festivals are created by car travel to and from the festival, Rock Ness are this year offering free coach travel to students (who represent a large proportion of festival-goers), with plans to roll this out to all ticket holders next year.
