£1195
This fantastic cycling holiday makes a true bike journey across the heart of the French Alps, the ‘Route des Grandes Alpes' and most certainly ranks as one of the world's great cycle tours. Taking in some of the most famous Tour de France climbs, such as the Galibier and the L'Iseran, we also cycle over the Bonette (2802m / 9193ft), Europe's highest paved road. At the beginning and end of this brilliant and memorable cycle ride, we deviate our cycling from the main route onto quiet country roads in Switzerland and France to avoid busy sections. To cycle 15,500 metres (50,000 feet) of ascent and descent through the French Alps is a real challenge and this Alpine road cycling holiday is surely a 'must do' ride for 'Sportive' riders and cycling enthusiasts alike.
