Greentraveller's Top Tip: If you've time to spare in Penrith before catching the train, be sure to check out the small market town's most noteable historical monument, the Penrith Castle, which dates back to the 14th century. The castlegrounds are an excellent place to relax after this exciting learning holiday.

Overview of Bushcraft for Families in the Lake District

There are not many occasions when you would encourage young poeple to build fires or eat wild plants but that is exactly what they will don on this bushcraft course. Families will get the chance to learn new skills, see the edible plants in their natural habitat, build their own shelter and have all the fun and adventure that goes with wilderness bushcraft.

Blencathra Field Centre occupies a dramatic setting on the slope of Blencathra with access to some of the most spectacular scenery in the UK. Comfortable accommodation mostly in a mix of twin and family rooms. Most bedrooms have wash hand basins, with toilet and shower facilities close by.
