Places for foodies

The perfect spot to stay for the seasoned gourmand. If an accommodation focuses on food (generally locally sourced, seasonal, organic and a passion of the owner or chef) we will flag it up for the greedy to take note.

It may not mean that there is a restaurant on site, rather someone there is handy in the kitchen and wants to share their great beneficence with you, their guest.

These owners will generally cater for those with special dietary requirements and frequently like to talk about the grub they serve (and possibly grow).

Growing up with both parents in hospitality and sharing the responsibility for the restaurant with his sister, the Patisserie chef, and his nephew, this is a true family affair and very very cwtch indeed.""

"This is the all-singing, all-dancing Scottish resort. There’s something here for everyone. I’m a boutique hotel or rustic restaurant-with-rooms person – with no interest in golf. I don’t like big resorts - but I love Gleneagles. It caters not just for golfers and outdoor enthusiasts, but foodies, spa sybarites, dog-owners and families. And its green so there’s no need to feel guilty about checking in."
