Sample itinerary: The 0900 ferry from Harwich arrives at Hook of Holland at 1630 the same day. The overnight service departs Harwich at 23.45 and arrives at Hook of Holland at 0745 the following morning.

How to travel to the port:

Stena Line runs a Rail Sail to Holland offer known as the ‘Dutchflyer’ where you can take the train from London Liverpool Street (or any National Express East Anglia station such as Cambridge, Colchester, Ipswich and Norwich - for the full list see nationalexpresseastanglia.com) to Harwich International port then catch either the morning or overnight Stena Line ferry service to the Hook of Holland. There are also regular rail services to Harwich from various destinations across the UK via London and major stations in East Anglia (such as the cities above). Harwich International Rail Station is immediately adjacent to the port, so it is a quick transfer from the train platform to the ferry check-in.

Harwich Port facilities: The terminal building has a shop, café, bar, ATM and bureau de change.

Transfer time: The rail terminal is directly in the ferry terminal so it's just a short walk through passport control onto the ferry.

Ferries depart Harwich at 9am daily, arriving in Hook of Holland at 1630 Dutch time. Monday - Friday, ferries depart Harwich at 2345, arriving at 745am the following day. Saturday & Sunday, ferries depart 2315, arriving at 745am the following day.

Onward travel by train: Conveniently just outside the port’s terminal building is the Hook Van Holland Haven Train Station from where it is under an hour by train to Rotterdam and The Hague and about 1 hour 30 minutes to Amsterdam. Don't forget, if you're planning to go on the 'Dutch Flyer', onward travel is included to any rail station in the Netherlands. For more information on train times in Holland see: www.ns.nl.

Onward travel by bus: There are two buses that leave from the port: bus number 128 takes you to Delft and bus 135 goes to to The Hague (central station). There is no direct bus service to Amsterdam or Rotterdam.
