Holidays in Hampshire, England

Hampshire is home to the New Forest, which is so full of green places to stay and activities that we’ve written a whole destination guide on it. For details of where to stay, eat, what to do and see in the New Forest click here Sustainable Destination Guide to the New Forest.

One of the best things about Hampshire is its gentleness, making it an ideal place for family holidays or weekend breaks. Whilst the region is quite flat, the coastline, estuaries and forest means there’s heaps to do and see. Brockenhurst is the centre of all forest related activities and consequently contains some excellent accommodation and dinning options, from campsites to spa hotels and pubs to Michelin stars. The Beaulieu River is an excellent place to try kayaking or simply head out to sea by boat and its shore contains some fascinating history, with quaint chapels and old ship building yards. And to top it off, head to Milford on Sea for a blast of fresh air and views over the Isle of Wight.
