Holidays in Derbyshire, England

The Peak District was Britain’s first National Park and, situated almost slap bang right in the middle of the country, is an excellent option for a long weekend or short stay in the UK. Not quite the wilds of the North, but with slightly more weight than the hills of the South, Derbyshire has a surprisingly varied landscape from lush, green valleys to wild, brown moorlands.  Gritstone and limestone crags make the region popular with rock climbers and both sheltered and fast river ways make it an excellent place for advanced or beginner kayaking holidays.

If you’d rather just book up your accommodation and plan your own activities then we have plenty of options there too. Derbyshire is home to some excellent farm-based B&Bs, run by eco enthusiasts who are passionate about their local area. One of our accommodations specializes in horse-riding holidays whilst another has erected some beautiful Mongolian yurts. All this, only a two - three hour train ride from London.

Eyam Moor

Eyam Moorland Meander, Derbyshire, England

Help us clear a narrow clay lined gulley (only 30cm deep!) of invasive vegetation including heather and bracken to aid the flow of freshwater to a local hamlet. Cut by hand many years ago the hamlet relies on this water as it is not on the mains.
