For many people Andalucía offers the quintessential Spanish experience. The aim of this 15-day trip is to reach the true spirit of Al Andalus and experience elements of the unique cultural heritage found in Seville, Córdoba and Granada.

You'll get the chance to explore the countryside on foot, discovering first-hand the richness and diversity of Andalucía’s wild mountains and the magnificent patterned landscapes, chequered by olive groves, vineyards and orchards. All walks are optional and a relative level of fitness is expected. You'll travel between the main centres by both rail and road. Accommodation throughout is based on cosy, centrally located hotels and family-run hostales.
Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1 - Join tour in Seville
Day 2 - Orientation walk in Seville; train to Cordoba
Explore the capital of Andalucia, Spain's fourth largest city, which boasts a rich history and is home to the magnificent Cathedral of Seville.
Day 3 - Day in Cordoba
Today, explore the fascinating city of Cordoba, with its medieval synogogues and impressive Mosque (Mezquita), which has combined two faiths. In the afternoon, take in the city at your leisure.
Day 4 - Drive to Cazorla
Pass through the ancient town of Ubeda and on towards the mountain town of Cazorla, whose winding streets and whitewashed houses are teeming with character.
Day 5 - El Chorro Walk
Explroe the fascinating gorge of El Chorro, which involves a two or three hour climb and a path to an isolated Franciscan monestary. You'll also get the chance to spot some local wildlife and species of bird.
Day 6 - Bus to Granada
Travel by bus to the Andalucian city of Granada, where you can appreciate fantastic views out across to the Alhambra and Generalife with the Sierra Nevada as a backdrop.
Day 7 - Visit Alhambra
A guided visit of the magnificent palace of the Alhambra. Started in 1239, this is considered one of the best examples of Moorish architecture outside the Arab world.
Day 8 - Free day in Granada
Visit the city itself, or take a trip further afield towards Alpujarras to visit the white villages of Capileira, Bubion and Pampaneira.
Day 9 - Train to Ronda
Day 10 - free time in and around Ronda
Explore Ronda or meander through the surrounding countryside, exploring the gorge and the basis for the old part of the town.
Day 11 - Drive to Grazalema
Transfer to Grazalema, a wonderful white village nestled beneath the limestone peak of San Cristobal and wonderful base from which to explore the Grazalema Parque Natural.
Day 12 - In Grazalema
This archetypal Sierran town will give you a very authentic rural Spanish experience, as will a trip to the nearby village of Benaocaz.
Day 13/14 - Drive to Seville
Day 15 - Tour ends in Seville

Andalucia's climate is generally milder in winter, while both hot and dry in summer. The Sierras themselves can be cooler in early Spring. While temperatures might be cooler than on the coast, temperatures can exceed 35 degrees in summer throughout the Sierras. It's worth making note that the area around Grazalema has the highest average rainfall in Spain.
