Details of Urban Adventure in Amsterdam: Going Dutch

Discover Amsterdam on foot and get a feel for the city’s history and unique way of life in the company of an in-the-know local guide. You'll start at Amsterdam Central Station before exploring the Jordaan district, once a down-at-heel area that has become a bohemian enclave, full of hip bars, restaurants and galleries. You'll get the opportunity to go aboard a house boat and develop an understanding of authentic canal-living before you head to a colourful flower market.

Travel back in time at the Begijnhof: previously a convent, the Begijnhof has a beautiful, tranquil courtyard encircled by chapels and 15th century buildings. Walk through the 16th century City Guard gallery and view portraits of famous Dutch citizens, before visiting the giant wooden statue of Goliath at the Amsterdam Historical Museum. Explore the city’s historic centre, referred to as the Dam Square, before you continue on to the city’s infamous red light district. The tour ends at the eclectic Waterlooplein flea market - browse the many stalls and you're sure to find a unique souvenir or two.
