Greentraveller's Top Tips: Following this exciting walking holiday, with time to spare in Perpignan before your journey home, a visit to Le Castillet, the city's most famous landmark, is highly recommended and within walking distance from the station. A hop away from the renowned monument tucked away in a quaint hidden square, the Place Hyancinthe Rigaud, is our top suggestion for a tasty organic lunch and charming atmosphere.

Overview of Walking Holiday along the Catalan Coast

Explore hidden coves, shady pinewoods, medieval Begur, and a regional cuisine which is renowned throughout Spain. The mild climate promises many warm, sunny days from spring through to autumn.

Perfect for beginners or people wanting to take it easy, the gentle route shows the breath-taking contrasts of this part of the Costa Brava: medieval villages and pine-clad hills, small, quiet coves and the wide, sandy beaches for which the area is well-known. There are many opportunities to relax by the sea and to linger over a late Spanish lunch at an authentic restaurant, just two of the many highlights of the holiday. The region is rightly famed throughout Spain for its cuisine, with delicious fish specialities. Walk through fields, up hills and along beaches and then take a lovely evening dip. Kick back at one of the delightful selection of high-quality, family-run hotels, most of which have a pool.

The elegant start point Hotel S’Agaró is quietly situated by an exclusive bay in its own grounds with a swimming pool. There are sea view rooms available.

Traveller Reviews of This Trip

This was a special holiday for my sister, brother and me - and we feel we made a really good decision to book with Inntravel! The walking around the coast was great and the scenery spectacular. Your choice of locations and accommodation for our stops was well-thought out and really good. Each one was different and had something special about it. We are left with lots of lovely memories, thank you! Mrs J Fraser, Northumberland, 05/09/2011

Highlights? Well how can we choose! The fabulous coastline, a real revelation; the joy of walking through broom and pine-scented paths; the wonderful view from the terrace of our room at the hotel Aiguablava; the warm friendliness of the Catalan people. We recommended you to everyone we spoke to.
Thank you all for a delightful holiday! We think that you are, on the basis of this experience, something to which other companies should aspire. Mrs A Adams, Canterbury, Kent, 21/05/2011

We were so pleased with the whole package, trains and taxis bang on time and all eventualities covered in the holiday pack. The holiday highlight cannot be classed as only one! As there were so many, however, the hotels selected were excellent, as was the great walking, with beautiful views and scenery. Mr Budden, Cardiff, 01/09/2010

The highlights were the scenery, the fresh local food and the lovely villages. In the village of Calella sitting looking out over the sea with a wonderful seafood lunch – the sardines were out of this world and sitting on the terrace of the Aiguablava for lunch and feeling like film stars – the service, view and food were all outstanding! Mrs W, Edinburgh, 25/06/2009
