Swimtrek
Based in Brighton, England, SwimTrek was the world’s first open water swimming operator. It organises short weekend breaks in the UK (incuding the Lake District, Norfolk Broads and Thames) as well as week-long swimming holidays in Croatia, Egypt, Finland, Greece, Malta, Sardinia, Scilly Isles, the Scottish Inner Hebrides and Turkey.
Greentraveller's founder Richard Hammond has been on two of Swimtrek's swimming holidays - to Finland and the Scottish Inner Hebrides - and featured them in his book Clean Breaks - 500 new ways to see the world. Richard is due to take part in the Hellespont swim in May, celebrating 200 years since Byron swam from Europe to Asia.
Catherine Mack, co-editor of greentraveller, has also been on a Swimtrek to Croatia, you can read about her trip here: Resolving to swim: a swimming holiday in Croatia.
