Overview of Sea Kayaking Holiday in Bohuslän

Sweden's western archipelago, a network of thousands of islands and skerries within easy reach of Gothenburg, is a wonderful area for sea kayaking. Self-guided Sea Kayaking in Bohuslän is the ideal choice for those who would like to combine the freedom and challenge of a self-guided tour with high quality equipment, local transfers and detailed suggested route description.

Standard tours are available in durations 3 or 6 days. 4-day or 5-day options are also possible, based on either the 3-day or 6-day routes. Accommodation along the way is wild camping, quite possibly on your own private island! You can choose to bring your own camping equipment or to hire tents and cooking equipment as optional extras. There are small stores and restaurants along the coast and on some of the islands along the way for provisions.

Single or double kayaks are available depending on your preference - if you are a beginner, double kayaks are recommended and these provide extra stability. The tour is suitable both for beginners and more experienced kayakers - the nature of the archipelago landscape means that you are free to vary the distance covered and the route taken to suit your level.

If you have little or no previous kayaking experience, we recommend that you take a 1-day introductory course at the kayak centre before your tour begins, which can be arranged as an optional extra. You begin your tour direct from the kayak centre.

If you take part in a course before your tour, you are welcome to keep your kayaking equipment as well as any camping gear hired and begin your tour immediately afterwards if you wish, thereby extending your tour by a night at no extra charge. At the end of your tour, you will be met at a designated point for return transfer to the kayak centre.

Please note that for safety reasons a minimum of 2 adult participants are required for this tour.
