Summary itinerary
Days 1-2
Dubrovnik: A beautiful city of paved squares and terracotta roofs, Dubrovnik is aptly nicknamed the 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. Walk along the imposing stone walls for spectacular sea views.
Days 3-4
Korcula: Visit an inland vineyard and sample the local wine, mixed, as the locals do, with water. End the day with a feast of Dalmatian produce and be sure to leave room for dessert.
Days 5-6
Hvar: Spend the afternoon hiking among Hvar's fields of lavender and rosemary. Pass through small villages and take a sunset stroll along the Hvar Town promenade. Relax on the beaches or mingle with locals in the town centre.
Days 7-8
Split: The site of Roman Emperor Diocletian's retirement palace, Split is the soul of Dalmatia. Explore the palace grounds which are filled with homes, businesses and restaurants.
Day 9
Zadar: This coastal town is home to the St Donatus Church, whose rotunda houses some of the finest Dalmatian metalwork in existence. For insight into the relationship between city and sea, be sure to visit the musical steps on the waterfront.
Days 10-12
Rab Island: Relax on one of Rab's many unspoilt beaches or hike to the top of Kamenjak hill for panoramic views. Alternatively, explore the thick Kalifront forest and experience the natural wonders of this rugged island.
Days 13-15
Bled: Discover the gorgeous surrounds of Bled with its pristine lake and medieval fortress. There is plenty of time to work up an appetite for an optional final group dinner - perhaps canoe on the lake, delve into the depths of a cave or cycle to nearby Vintgar Gorge.
