Details of Cologne and Berlin by Train

Days 1-2 - Cologne

Travel from St Pancras International or Ebbsfleet International by Eurostar to Brussels and then connect on to the German ICE train to Cologne. Journey time from London 4 hours approximately. Check into your hotel the Azimut Cologne City Center, where you will stay for 2 nights. Visit Cologne's Chocolate Museum for a tasting, relax in a traditional bar and sample the local specialty beer kolsch, then head up to the top of the Dom for fabulous views over the city.

ICE Train ICE Train

Railbookers Recommends to ask one of the sales team for a quote to upgrade your travel to 1st class. Not only are you seated in more spacious carriages with more leg room, you also have a lot more room for luggage. There is also a waiter service on board throughout Germany on their ICE trains.

Christmas Markets

Cologne has a fantastic Christmas market which is well worth a visit in the run up to Christmas. If you can though try and avoid the crowds at weekends as you will find the queues for Glühwein much more bearable in the week!  

Days 3-5 - Berlin

Take the high speed ICE train from Cologne to Berlin (approximately 4 hours 30 minutes), where you check in at the Art'otel Berlin City Center West, where you will stay for 3 nights. Berlin is the capital of Germany and was divided by the Berlin Wall between the French, Americans, British and Soviets from 1945 to 1989. The reunited Berlin has a lively and continually changing nightlife, fascinating museums, modern architecture, restaurants serving international cuisine, and tempting shops and boutiques.

Day 6 - Berlin to London 

Day 6, travel by high speed train through Germany and then Eurostar to London via Brussels (approximately 9 hour journey). Stop-overs en route are available. Holidays can be tailor-made for you to include different hotels, lengths of stay, departure dates and additional cities.
