Not-to-be-missed sights include the exquisite 15th century church of St-Maurice, originally part of a Dominican convent, the stately Palais d’Isle and the Musée du Château, the former home of the Counts of Genevois, which is now a well-stocked museum of local art and artefacts. Annecy has many good eateries, with a cluster of particularly fine restaurants around the chateau.
