Catherine has joined the greentraveller team as co-editor. She will be writing articles about eco travel and reviews of green places to stay. Based in London, Catherine is Irish and will be providing lots of insight into green travel options in her home country. As a mother of two young boys, she also writes about family-friendly green holidays. Catherine is a travel writer who has written for The Guardian, The Observer, The Independent and The Daily Telegraph, and has a regular column, Ethical Traveller (in the travel section 'Go'), in The Irish Times. She has an Msc in Responsible Tourism Management and has produced several responsible tourism handbooks for The Irish Tourist Board, Failte Ireland, and Visit England in 2009. She is also the author of Ecoescape: Ireland, published 2008. She also writes her own blog at www.ethicaltraveller.co.uk.

Catherine’s most recent trips have included hiking in the Mercantour National Park, France (with the help of a donkey), learning how to press olives in Crete, sleeping in a tipi on an organic farm in Fermanagh, sleeping up a tree in Normandy, going on a swimming holiday in Croatia, and cycling in the Scottish Highlands. One of her greatest ambitions is to see the opening of a high speed rail link from UK to Ireland similar to Eurostar within her lifetime.
