Let's start off with the messy one: Bog Snorkeling. Yes, you too can experience this fabulous wading through watery mud. It's actually a great day out, and certainly a story to tell, where you'll cycle through a 6ft peat bog wearing a mask, a snorkel and very little dignity. World championships (!) in July.
Well okay, you quite like the idea of cycling, but you're not too sure about the bog. No fear! Try one of the longest running Green Events, back after a regretted absence. Red Kit Mountain Bike Bash takes its riders through the spectacular and diverse southern Cambrian Mountains, exploring tiny trails and large descents.
All of this sounds a bit tiring, how about a pint? How about a few more? How about a whole organic beer festival, the UK's first and still growing strong, that not only offers the best organically produced liquids, but also a barbecue?
Liking the organic but not so much the beer? Well no fear, the Organic Food Festival is back after a very successful last year (over 20,000 visitors) to offer the best quality food products from tasty cheeses to salted beef to There's even fun demos, music to chill out and digest to and a Sheep Show where you can get up and personal with the sheep. We prefered not to ask for more details.
Building on the very popular Big Green Festival is the Green Gathering: a four day festival of more green things than you can shake an organic stick at. In the beautiful Piercefield Park, find ethical markets, holistic therapies, music, food, relazation and a lot of fun. Perfect for a family trip into the wild and green. 
One thing we can all agree upon is that parks are wonderful, little green oasises of calm and trees. Well thus Summer, express your love with the Love Parks Week whether its a Teddy Bears Picnic in Cambusland Park in Scotland or a Family Fun Sports Day in Meridian  in England.

Ever been in a forest and just wished you knew what exactly that beautiful tree was? well, with several 'get to know' day events across the Summer, Trees for Health provides a guide to the history, spirit and biology behind the trees that make up the Celtic Tree calendar. 
Quest is a Natural Health Show with over 120 stalls, music, live perfomances, art exhibitions for local artists and talks by international authors. There is also a great variety of workshops such as body workshops teaching thai massages.
Ah rockpools, you little sea puddles of childhood wonder. With the Wembury Marine Centre, there are plently of opportunities to go on their Rockpool Ramble that takes kids both big and small on a tour to find crabs, fish and all kinds of other creatures.
The Big Tent is Scotland's main green festival that welcomes world leading thinkers about climate change as well as a two music stages, a poetry place, a market place and a craft and wood zone.
The Pembrokeshire Fish Week is an enormous celebration of Welsh sea-food, as well as its incredible coastline, pristine beaches and vibrant martime heritage. This week includes events like seashore safaris, evening boat trips and of course many opportunities to taste Welsh fish and shellfood.
You would not usually go to a farm to find out how to smell nice, but on Trill Farm, it's Artisan Perfumery Weekend will not only give you an understand of perfumery, as well as some lovely smells, but also the chance to design and create your very own fragrance
Coventry Cycling Festival is a great opportunity to get on your bike and discover the wonders of this regions countryside. All events are free and for all ages, ranging from a rickshaw ride to trying out differnt bikes to learning to unicycle with Coventry Community Circus.
Fully mixing itself with York's unique and historic city, the York Food and Drink Festival is not only a great week with a chance to try some great food, but also events like cooking & cocktail demonstrations. This year's theme is 'Dine at My Table'so expect homely and warm food.
Specially crafter for the little ones (between five and twelveve), the Woodland Adventure Club is a way to explore the woods while learning basic bushcraft skills, how to light a campfire and get messy with environmental art
