Enjoy England Sustainable Tourism Award Finalists
Greentraveller is delighted to announce that three of our accommodations have been shortlisted for the VisitEngland Sustainable Tourism Award.
VisitEngland's long-established and prestigious Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2011 "aim to celebrate the very best that the tourism sector in England has to offer". Judges include experienced travel journalists Alison Rice and Sally Shalam, as well as previous Small Visitor Attraction winner Victoria Emmanuel of the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter.
The Sustainable Tourism Award will be presented to an English business "that has placed green issues right at the heart of its working ethos". Together with the Cavendish in London, the shortlist for the award includes the following three accommodations, all of which are listed on greentraveller:
Clough Bottom Farm
Clough Bottom Farm Cottages, Lancashire - A working organic farm in the Forest of Bowland, complete with organic veg patch, which has won several awards for its sustainability practices.

The Battlesteads Country Inn, Northumberland - A family-run, 18th century farm house that utilises sustainable fuel from local forestry while boasting its own extensive kitchen garden.

The 54 shortlisted winners have been chosen from 126 regional winners, while the overall winner of each category will be announced at a ceremony on 15 April.
