Thalys offers cut price train fares to Amsterdam and Cologne

RailEurope has announced that Thalys is offering a huge increase in availability of its lead-in fares for tickets between Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Germany.

One-way fares from Paris and Brussels to Amsterdam are on sale for from £26.

A one-way ticket to Cologne in Germany from Brussels will cost from £17.

We have just done a quick search on RailEurope's site and found both these ticket prices available. NB. in general, we have found that booking European rail travel is best when you book the trip in two parts - Eurostar to Paris, Lille or Brussels, then the second leg separately, e.g. Brussels to Amsterdam, Paris to Cologne, etc. So this offer for the second leg is a good one!

Tickets go on sale today, Tuesday 14 June, until Saturday 9 July 2011, and are valid for travel between Monday 11 July and Wednesday 31 August 2011.
